3rd grade - Mystery Number!

We were so happy to get a call this morning to help out our friends at Gattis Elementary School. They had a last minute cancellation for their Mystery Number Hangout- so Mrs. Galvan's Trailblazers stepped in!
What's a Mystery Number Hangout? Good question! It's basically playing 20 questions with another classroom to try to guess the number 1-100 that they've chosen. Each class takes turns guessing. For example, "Is your number even?" Our students had a blast!
Check out some pictures:

3rd Grade Graphing

Mrs. Crooks' third grade class did a GREAT job using Google Sheets to create graphs using class data. Students collected data about a variety of subjects and then inputted it into a spreadsheet and created a graph. They labeled both the x and y axis and gave it a title.
Check out these great examples!

3rd Graders Use Blendspace to Showcase Research

This week the 3rd grade team has been using Blendspace to present their research findings. Blendspace worked well since it is available in the Chrome Web Store and allows students to sign in with the click of a (single sign on) button.

Have you seen the new My BrainPop?

Our TAG teacher discovered My BrainPop today. It's included in the school subscription and allows teachers to create an account, add students, and track their assignments.

Check it out! Getting started with My BrainPop

You'll need to get the educator code for our campus. Contact Danielle, Shannon, or Nicole if you need the code.

2nd grade dives into Google Classroom

Second grade classes have started using Google Classroom. They LOVE the student gmail shortcut that allows them to paste their very long email instead of having to type it in (teachers love this too!).

Students added Google Classroom from the Chrome Store, joined their teacher's classroom, and were able to start working right away on their presentations.

Students worked on research and put together a Google Presentation to share what they've learned. Topics included animals, countries, or famous people. As the next step, students will share their presentations with their classmates to get feedback via digital comments.
